Having worked in the City for 17 years (so I understand a lot about stress!), I became interested in hypnotherapy after using hypnosis in 1998 for the drug-free and virtually painless birth of my son. I trained at the highly acclaimed Essex Institute of Clinical Hypnosis and carry diplomas in Hypnotherapy and Hypnoanalysis and became a full-time hypnotherapist/hypnoanalyst in 2003.
Due to my own positive birth experience, I also trained at St Thomas’ Hospital in London to become a fully licenced HypnoBirthing® practitioner. I was the first practitioner to offer HypnoBirthing in Colchester and one of the first in Essex, and have helped over 150 couples to have a better birth experience using this method.
In 2010 I became a licensed Hypno-Band (virtual gastric band) practitioner.
Having helped many people with weight and body image issues, I took extra training with the National Centre for Eating Disorders in 2006 and am fully qualified to help people with all eating and body-image disorders, including Bulimia, Anorexia, Obesity, Failed Dieting, and Binge Eating Disorder.
I now have over 2,500 hours practical experience and am bound by my governing body to complete at least 15 hours per annum of additional training.
I am a member of the Association for Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy, an Affiliate Member of the National Centre for Eating Disorders, and am governed by a strict code of ethics and confidentiality, and carry full indemnity insurance.
